The news that Ricky Martin is gay came as a surprise to absolutely nobody. Despite initially being a little annoyed by the statement Ricky put out with his announcement (interesting he’s ‘proud’ to come out when his career is on the skids) I’m glad that he felt the courage to tell the truth about his sexuality.

Erykah Badu – offensive or artistic?

So by now you must have heard the controversy over the new Erykah Badu video for Window Seat. In the clip she strips naked as she walks through the street where JFK was assassinated and seemingly recreates his assassination. Of course the US are up in arms about both the message of the video and Erykah’s public nudity.

I actually think the video is a great piece of art and for a country that claims to want freedom of speech they seem to be taking it away from Badu. What do you think?

The return of Toni Braxton

Toni Braxton has always been one of my favourite singers and it’s been sad to see her ignored in the music industry for several years now. Not since the massive smash of He Wasn’t Man Enough have we seen Toni scale the dizzying heights of the charts. That looks sent to change with new single Yesterday, the lead track from new album Pulse.

Do you have a Plan B?

It’s been so long since I posted on here. I promise to try better in future. In my defence I’ve been incredibly busy running EF, working full-time and trying to have a life. I’ve also been at the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival covering some fantastic movies. One of the strongest I’ve seen so far is Plan B which finds a young man trying to woo his girlfriend back but instead ends up falling for her new boyfriend.

I can’t help it. Call me whatever you like but I LOVE Miley Cyrus. She’s so much better than she’s given credit for and her recent musical output is fantastic. Showing a real growth in maturity both vocally and visually, Miley just gets better and better.

Ignore the haters because a Miley song is on…because a Miley song is OOOONNNN!!!

Kellan lush…

Kellan Lutz has been on my radar for a number of years. I first saw him in the short-lived Lisa Kudrow show The Comeback. Now he’s a big star thanks to guest spots in 90210 and a supporting role in the Twilight movies. I was starting to think he was getting a bit too bulky but when his CK ads came out I realised he’s still bloody hot!

The Little Dog Laughed

Sorry I’ve not been on here for a while! I saw a fantastic play the other night, The Little Dog Laughed, starring Rupert Friend, Tamsin Greig, Harry Lloyd and Gemma Arterton. Having never seen Rupert Friend in anything before (and knowing him only as Keira Knightley’s boyfriend) I was really impressed. He also looks fantastic in his underwear

Fantastic new TV: Nurse Jackie

All week I’ve been hooked on Nurse Jackie, the new show starring Edie Falco. It’s been shown every week night on BBC 2 and BBC HD and it’s one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in a while. The gorgeous Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen from the Twilight movies) also stars.

If you haven’t seen it then I highly recommend it.
